Arrival

  1. Send the ISPS form 48 hours ahead to the port facility security officer, copying us.
  2. Call port control at 10 NM and drift Under coastguard instructions in force since 2012, ships drift where port control tells them. The ship waits at about 5 NM until called, and the pilot boards at about 2 NM. Stay tuned to the local channel.
  3. Have the documents ready before berthing dated and stamped with the berthing date (the lists are below). The inward declaration goes to the agent and the port authorities’ representative once on board.

Good to know

  • Free pratique is granted at all fast, under Béjaïa port regulations.
  • Ships under 70 m may be exempt from towage, at the pilots’ discretion (Béjaïa port tariff 2026).
  • Where a ship’s papers show two drafts, the port uses the larger one, so carry the official documents.
